Learning JourneyHello! I'm an Artist, Graphic Designer and Self Taught Marketing...?!? I'm not sure exactly how or when it happened, but I became a Marketing Coordinator for a large non-profit in Florida. I think I inherited the job, since I was just given the responsibilities on top of my job as a Graphic Designer when the woman doing the marketing left the company. I read and learned as much as I could via the internet. I also did what made logical sense - which is something you have naturally or not I think. It's like Common Sense... haha. I'll just leave that there. I eventually moved on to promoting New Age Music Concerts. It was easy to sell tickets to the concerts because I believed the reason why everyone should go. I don't have the gift of selling something I don't believe in - and I'm actually pretty happy about that! Let's fast track to the present day where I am 100% living and working as an Artist. A broke one! You might think it would be easy for me with my history to market my artwork... it has not been easy. Maybe I need to do some soul searching to figure out why it's hard to sell my art - or maybe I need to get down and dirty... starting from scratch and taking you all with me. I'll choose the second option. I've decided to approach this as a Learning Journey. I'm going to post and share with you my process of re-learning Marketing. Since I never did go to school for it - this probably is a good idea. There is so much information out there. Blogs, websites, friends etc. It can be confusing if you don't have some knowledge to begin with. I think the key is to take it slow. Learn one thing at a time. I may make some mistakes as I go, Actually, I'm bound to make mistakes on the way. I'm not ashamed to share them! So, Welcome to my Learning Journey. I hope we have some fun along the way. Here is a pic of me as a child. It seems fitting. For this Blog, I'll be doing my best to be broad in my writing. I'm using Weebly for my website hosting. What works in Wordpress might not work here, and vice versa. I am also not a professional writer! I will make grammar mistakes. Forgive Me Now. PS - So I've written my Blog Entry... and now I'm trying to figure out how to post it! And ADD keywords (more on them later) Ah... the Post Options were on the left. I'm going to publish Immediately and add it to a Category. Which basically helps you keep track of your entries once you have more then 10 and your mind gets confused. I'm also adding a SEO Post Title and SEO Post Description. I'll write more about this soon. Save and Post buttons are on the top right. Please leave a comment - and share this Blog with your friends.
